How To Use Affirmations and Growth Mindset Statements
Choose which affirmations for kids you want to say aloud together first. Make this specific to each child, as what one youngster requires may differ from what another requires. While my oldest has shyness, my youngest does not, therefore positive affirmations such as “I have a powerful and vital voice” are useful for my oldest. “Can we do ‘formations?’” my daughter requested as I was getting ready in the restroom. She loved practising affirmations, whether we did them in front of the mirror or as we headed out the door, even if she was still working on her vocabulary and pronunciation.
Having said that, I prefer the mirror. After all, eye contact is powerful in parenting, even when we’re looking in the mirror. For us, I say the affirmation aloud and have my kid repeat it back to me. After some repetition, she began to memorize the affirmations and began repeating them in unison with me.
You can also make it a habit to say affirmations to each other while looking at each other. Encourage your child to repeat after you while looking you in the eyes. Eye contact and reassuring words can be quite helpful for children who need help calming down.
Making flashcards is another fantastic way to make affirmations for kids, especially for older children who can read. Make a fun activity out of it by writing them down, decorating the cards, and doing it together. The act of writing can reinforce the affirmation in their minds, which is an added benefit of this activity. They’ll also get some reading practice! It’s a win-win situation.
Make affirmations a habit and part of your routine, regardless of how you plan to perform them. When my daughter and I wash our teeth before night, we occasionally do them. We do them as we go out the door and into the car at other times… Simply find a way to incorporate them into your schedule!
Growth Mindset Statements For Kids
I strongly advise you to personalize them to topics or ideas that you know your pupils are having trouble understanding. When doing affirmations, starting with the statement “I am” is powerful, but it is not needed; however, keeping it in the present tense helps. After all, the purpose of affirmations is to reframe your (and your children’s) negative thinking in the present moment.

Why Growth Mindset Affirmations Are Important
I despised the fact that even as a small child, my daughter was telling herself, “I can’t.”
Enter affirmations, sometimes known as positive mantras, which I’ve been using for several years. Instead of using words like “I can’t,” positive affirmations for kids teach us to use words like “I can,” which empower and inspire us.
We may calm the negative chatter by modifying the words we tell ourselves, and as a result, we talk to ourselves in a more optimistic way. Positive affirmations are a habit of pulling us up rather than bringing us down.
